Dicode results will be published in a Springer book

A publishing agreement with Springer has been signed to prepare a book reporting on the most significant results of the Dicode project. Its tentative title is “Mastering Data-Intensive Collaboration and Decision Making: Cutting-edge research and practical applications in the Dicode project”. The book will be edited by Nikos Karacapilidis.

Keynote Talk and Tutorial at CONSEG 2013

Vania Dimitrova will give a Keynote Talk about the Dicode project at the 7th International Conference on Software Engineering, 15-17 November 2013, Pune, India (http://www.conseg.in/pune2013/). The title of the talk is “The Bumpy Ride of Engineering Innovative Intelligent Systems to Augment Human Practice”. In addition, Dicode semantic services will be presented by Dhaval Thakker and Vania Dimitrova in a tutorial at the same conference. The title of the tutorial is “Semantic-enriched intelligent support to make sense of social and linked data”.

Dicode Text Mining technology @ CeBit 2013

Dicode Text Mining technology was demonstrated at CeBit2013 in Hannover.
The Fraunhofer IAIS "Living Lab Big Data Demonstrator" features emotion detection and topic model technology that was originally developed for the Dicode use case 3.

5th Dicode Consortium Meeting @ Leeds, 1-2 October 2012

In the framework of the 5th (24-month) Dicode Consortium meeting, UoL will host all project partners in Leeds, UK, in October 1-2, 2012. Core meeting activities will incοrporate demos of usage scenarios from the three Dicode use cases.

Best Research Paper Award!

The paper entitled “Building on the synergy of machine and human reasoning to tackle data-intensive collaboration and decision making” (authored by Nikos Karacapilidis, Stefan Rüping, Manolis Tzagarakis, Axel Poigné and Spyros Christodoulou), which reports on the Dicode approach, was judged worthy of the “Best Research Paper Award” at the KES 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Decision Technologies (July 2011, Piraeus, Greece).

DICODE co-organises the international workshop "Adaptive Support for Team Collaboration"

DICODE co-organises the international workshop "Adaptive Support for Team Collaboration" (http://astc2011.ascolla.org/),
to be held in conjunction with UMAP 2011 (www.umap2011.org) in Spain, July 11-15 2011.

The ASTC workshop is closely related to DICODE's collaboration dimension which constitutes -together with the data mining aspects- the conceptual foundations of the project. It is co-organized by members of the DICODE consortium, serving on the organizing and on the program committees.
